Spinners – wooden Greek. Suitable for children from 5 years old and above, but also for collectors! Made of strong wood to withstand blows and over time. Spinning is one of the favorite toys of children all over the world. The earliest written reference to it is found in Homer’s Iliad when a stone hurled by Telamonius Ajax in a duel with Hector, twists “like a spinner” before hitting his opponent. Its ancient name was strombos, vortex or bemvix. It was conical and made of hardwood.
