Description
Wooden handmade spinner with colorful stripes in large size. Spinning is one of the favorite toys of children all over the world. The earliest written reference to it is found in Homer’s Iliad when a stone hurled by Telamonius Ajax in a duel with Hector, twists “like a spinner” before hitting his opponent. Its ancient name was strombos, vortex or bemvix. It was conical and made of hardwood.
