Decorative card book box 5 sticks. The evolution of the deck differs from country to country. In the past, however, everywhere their quality was excellent and luxurious, but over time, and its spread to the popular strata, cheaper decks of cards began to be manufactured. And while their manufacture was once artisanal, for a long time it has been done by specialized factories and / or joint printing companies, with cylindrical offset machines. The first playing cards were made of parchment or thin bone sheets or other materials, handmade painted and real masterpieces of miniature and therefore very expensive. Thanks to the invention of wood engraving and, of course, typography, printing becomes easier and, therefore, decks of cards cheaper. As a raw material, cardboard, of different quality and weight, was now used in multiple layers, and preferably from fabric rags, to ensure greater durability. Cardboard sheets are coated with various materials, such as organic wax or varnish based on silicone resin or cellulose. In the most luxurious types, the sheets of cardboard are pressed before they are printed. Today, all kinds of materials are used, even plastic (but, in any case, they are still called “papers”…)
